Another HURRICANE??!!

Folks, I am speechless! I can't believe another category 4 (or 5) hurricane is looming near us - - again!! What is going on?? Can we get a break?? There are so many, many Texans on our highways - - stuck - - and they are encouraged to keep going north - - to Austin and Dallas. Some cars have run out of gas on the highways; some cars have overheated. Thank goodness there are tanker trucks with gas helping those who are stranded. Where under normal circumstances a trip from Galveston to Austin takes about 4 hours, now it's taking up to 14 hours! My prayer is that these people will not be stuck on the highways when the hurricane comes ashore. They say about 100,000 people are heading to Austin and Dallas. Our hotels are full, so shelters are opening up; this time our high school gymnasiums are being used as temporary shelters. Rita is a huge storm, about 400 miles wide, but with the slight jog to the east, here in Austin we're only expected to get a couple of inches of rain. Speaking of weather, today is first day of Fall, and our high temperature today was 100 degrees! Hey, we're kinda' looking forward to the rain. But of course, our neighbors along the coast will get entirely too much. We're all holding our breath.............
