Snowed (Iced) In..........A Knitter's Dream

We're into our second day of being snowed in here in Austin..........it is a knitter's dream! We have been at or below freezing since Monday night and everything is iced over. Yesterday it actually snowed! Our first chance to be above freezing is supposed to be tomorrow. We were sent home from work at noon on Monday..........and don't have to report until tomorrow......incredible, but you don't hear me complaining! I have been cooking and knitting, and the agenda for today is to only knit! It's a dream - - please don't wake me up! Sadly, some 55 deaths have occurred in the region because of this weather system, and my prayers go up for those families. We have been encouraged, almost mandated to stay off of the roads here in Austin, since as of yesterday, there were a reported 300 car accidents. Uh, why do people think they can drive on ice without the proper tires with chains or spikes?? Believe me, they won't see me out there. Many have lost their electricity here in the city, thank God we still have ours. Several years ago we did lose electricity in an ice storm and actually had to check into a hotel across town because our house reached 50 degrees inside, and without a fireplace at that time, it was unbearably cold. Our airport is closed today, because they ran out of de-icer material, and the new shipment didn't come in. So, remind me, am I living in Norway, or in Austin, Texas?? Please stay safe.
